Lesson 3 - Hardware and Software & Revision
Hardware is any physical part of the computer such as the monitor, keyboard, mouse, DVD-ROM drive, printer, etc. Software consists of the programs that allow you to use the computer such as the operating system, games, database management system, word processor or spreadsheet application. Information Technology (IT) is an all-embracing term referring to the storage, processing or transferring of information using electronic means. The term IT has more recently been upgraded to become ICT, to include the word Communication. The term can be applied not only to anything concerning computers, but also facsimile transmission, telephone and multi-media presentations.
